dancing bear hats...

Love the Dead.  Love dancing bears.

I made this chart forever ago so that I could embellish a pair of Matthew's longies with a dancing bear.  I also got a little crazy with these longies and used an insane amount of colors in the striped legs.  They were for Matty, so I wasn't super picky about weaving in the ends and here is how they came out.....

So this last week I am knitting for a friend.  He had a stroke recently and is missing a lot of work and piling up a bunch of medical bills.  His dearest friends are having a benefit for him and I wanted to contribute in some way (and believe me, everyone is happy I am not contributing to the bake sale).  So I did a couple of dancing bear hats.

The pattern for the hat itself is the Holly Hat...a free pattern :) :)  I did the garter stitch brim option with earflaps and a single crochet trim.  Then added the braided ties.  You of course can choose any of the options you would like to make your hat your favorite.  After the hat is complete, use this easy to follow duplicate stitch chart to embellish your dancing bear on your hat.

Hope you enjoy :)  I will be posting more free charts right here :)
